The 2010 story

The 3rd toy run

The third Santa's Toy Run raised its money by the lap: donors pledged for every lap completed in a 9 hour endurance race, and gave for race car ride alongs. With personal donations that came to about $6,000 for Speedway Children's Charities.

A truck load of toys went to Gwinnett Children's Shelter, Haven House, A Friend's House, Piedmont CASA and Noah's Ark, plus families in crisis, in a year when the need had almost doubled.

I would like to personally thank each person who made Santa’s Toy Run 2009 toy drive and fundrasier an absolute resounding sucess again! I estimate that $6000 will be collected for Speedway Children’s Charities through personal donations, pledges made for the laps completed in the 9 hour endurance eace and Race Car Ride Along, outstanding! My hat is off for those who worked so diligently to make this happen.

To top it off, a truck load of toys were collected, distributed, and greatly appreciated by Gwinnett Children Shelter, Haven House, A friend’s House, Piedmont CASA, Noah’s Ark plus a number of families in crisis. All of these organizations and recipients were very grateful for the toys which made a very positive impact for kids in need this Christmas; especially since the demand has almost doubled this year. Everyone that took part in Santa’s Toy Run 2009 should feel good about themselves knowing there will be lots of smiles on kid’s faces on Chistmas morning

We owe a great deal of appreciation and admiration to the directors and staff of NASA-Southeat for their unwavering support to this unique event for the kids; Jim and Julie are great people.
